Guru Purnima was celebrated on Wednesday 3rd July 2024 in the school hall.
The celebrations were held separately for the Primary section, Std 5 to 7 and Std 8 to 10. The programme began with a prayer service invoking God’s blessings on Our Principal Rev Fr Felix D’souza, Supervisor Tr Sheela Abraham, Primary Head teacher Sister Treasa Tinsy and all our teachers. This was followed by a song by our small primary boys. A PowerPoint presentation on the various famous Gurus with their famous disciples ,right from Guru Dronacharya of Vedic times to Mr Ranjit Disale, one of the present day Guru of the technological era, was shown. Students of different faiths had, throughout the week, prayed for all the Gurus of our school. The prayers were offered to them in the form of a spiritual bouquet by the school captains of both the sections.
A cake ,symbolising the sweetness that is imparted to us everyday by our teachers, was also cut. Fr Felix in his address to the students stressed on them wishing teachers whenever they come across them. He said teachers too learn a lot from students. Sr Treasa spoke to the primary students about the importance of discipline and regular studies. Tr. Sheela narrated a mythological story to bring out the importance of speaking the truth and complete obedience to the teachers teaching them.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Tr. Fatema.
