The English Elocution Competition was held on 21st August 2025 for the students of std. 5 to 10. Participants from std. 5 to 8 recited poems on themes such as Emotions, Friendship, Social Issues and Peace while those from std. 9 and 10 delivered five-minute speeches on topics including The Defence Forces, Time Discipline and The Benefits of Reading Newspapers.
The event was adjudicated by Ms. Gloria Thakor of St. Agnes High School and Ms. Veena D’Souza of St. Isabel’s High School. Both judges lauded the participants for their confidence, clarity of expression and excellent memory skills. They also appreciated the dedicated training and guidance imparted by the teachers.
This year marked a new initiative wherein students of std. 5 to 8 were awarded cash prizes while the students of std. 9 and 10 continued their tradition of receiving prizes sponsored by the M. R. Pai Foundation. The competition was a distinguished showcase of eloquence and talent, leaving a lasting impression on the judges as well as the audience.
