St. Mary’s High School (SSC) joyfully celebrated the Christmas programme on 22nd December with great enthusiasm and festive spirit. Parents were warmly invited to join the celebration, and a special invitation was extended to 21 visually challenged girls from Kamala Mehta Blind School, who became an integral part of the day. Their presence added deep meaning and inclusiveness to the celebration, truly reflecting the spirit of Christmas.
The programme featured beautifully presented tableaux, melodious carol singing, and a meaningful Christmas skit, all highlighting the humble birth of Jesus and His message of love, peace, and hope. The special guests from Kamala Mehta Blind School also sang a song, which deeply touched the hearts of everyone present. An interactive session at the end of the programme allowed students and parents to engage with the guests, fostering empathy, gratitude, and mutual respect.
The celebration truly lived up to this year’s theme, “The Star Still Shines,” reminding everyone that the light of Christ continues to shine through acts of kindness and compassion. Fr. Savio, the Chief Guest, spoke eloquently on the importance of Christmas in our daily lives and encouraged everyone to live the values of love and service beyond the season.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Fr. Felix D’Souza SJ, urged students, parents, and staff to “be Christmas to others” by bringing joy into someone’s life, becoming instruments of peace, serving as beacons of hope, loving all without discrimination, and treating every person with dignity and compassion.
The celebration concluded on a joyful note when Santa Claus arrived skating, distributing chocolates and spreading cheer among the students. The programme was a memorable and meaningful experience, leaving everyone inspired to carry the true spirit of Christmas into their everyday lives.
