St. Mary’s High School celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great pride, enthusiasm, and patriotic fervour on 26th January. The entire school campus was filled with a spirit of unity and national pride as students, teachers, and staff gathered to commemorate this important day in the history of our nation.
The programme began with the hoisting of the National Flag by our esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Santosh Apankar, who has rendered 29 years of dedicated service to the school. His long association with the institution and his commitment to education made his presence especially meaningful. The flag hoisting was followed by the National Anthem, invoking a deep sense of respect and gratitude towards our country.
The cultural programme that followed was both inspiring and educative. A thought-provoking skit highlighting the importance of “Vande Mataram” beautifully conveyed the values of patriotism, sacrifice, and love for the motherland. This was followed by colourful dances and impactful speeches, which reflected the richness of India’s culture and the responsibilities of citizens in a democratic nation.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Santosh Apankar spoke passionately about the need to make our country safe by safeguarding the constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. He encouraged students to be responsible citizens and to uphold the ideals enshrined in the Constitution in their daily lives.
In his address, the Principal reminded everyone that it is our collective responsibility to celebrate diversity as our strength and to treat the Constitution as the powerhouse of our democracy. He urged students to live out constitutional values not just in words, but through actions that promote harmony, respect, and integrity.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving everyone inspired and renewed in their commitment to the nation. The Republic Day celebration was truly a memorable event, reinforcing the values of patriotism, unity, and responsible citizenship among the students.
