On the 3rd of October 2016, the CULTURE CLUB of St Mary’s High School SSC organised a DANDIYA MASTI programme in its premises. This was a FIRST TIME EVER event in the school. The students and teachers of St Isabel’s High School were invited to partake in the festivities.That two schools collaborated to one event was truly remarkable. The Junior KG tiny tots also added flavour to the day.
The event started with the welcome of the students of St Mary’s and St Isabel’s. It was followed by the introduction given by School Head-boy Master Zoeb Morbiwala. An arti of Goddess Durga was performed by the staff and parents of both the schools. Master Owais Shaikh from Std 8 kick-started the event with his performance on the Segway which is the latest in Dandiya dance. A group performance by a few students of the ninth was an added ice-breaker for the audience gathered who wasted no time time thereafter in grooving to the Dandiya Beats by DJ Dhaval.
After 2 hours of non-stop Dandiya and Garba, the prize-winners were announced. There were awards for Best Dressed Male, Best Dressed Female, Best Dancer Male, Best Dancer Female, Best Couple (Male), Best Couple (Female). It was an event enjoyed by all- Students, Teachers and Parents.
