The Nature Club of our school organised an adventurous trek on 9th August, 2026 to Sagachiwadi, Matheran (Bhivpuri), giving students an opportunity to step away from their routine and connect with nature. The trek was a wonderful blend of adventure, camaraderie, environmental awareness and learning, creating memories that the students will cherish.
The day began with great enthusiasm as the students gathered at school and set off for the trek. On reaching the base, they received a briefing on safety instructions and the route ahead before beginning their journey through the scenic trail. The initial stretch was a comfortable walk through picturesque surroundings, followed by a stream crossing and a short uphill climb towards Sagachiwadi.
As part of the school’s environmental awareness initiative, the students also participated in a meaningful Seed Bombing Activity during the trek. They carried different types of seeds, including mango seeds, coffee beans, papaya seeds and pulses, and carefully dispersed them in suitable areas along the trail under the guidance of their teachers. The activity gave students a hands-on understanding of biodiversity, tree plantation, conservation of natural habitats and ecological balance, while encouraging them to become responsible Eco Commanders. As the trek progressed, a gentle drizzle began to fall, transforming the surroundings into a refreshing and misty landscape. The cool breeze and light rain added a special charm to the adventure and made the journey even more enjoyable.
The group eventually reached Sagachiwadi Village, where the students took a well-deserved break and enjoyed lunch amidst the lush greenery and fresh mountain air. The return journey was equally enjoyable, filled with cheerful conversations, laughter and memorable moments, accompanied by the pleasant weather and occasional drizzle.
The trek concluded with the distribution of certificates and badges to all participants, marking their successful completion of the event. The students returned to school in the evening, tired but happy and carrying wonderful memories of the day.
The entire trek was efficiently managed by The Tern Travellers. The students were guided and supervised by eight dedicated teachers: Ms Rochelle Dsa, Mrs Sheela Abraham, Mr Anthony Colaco, Mrs Mehjabeen Bagasrawala, Ms Naureen Kutty, Ms Sangeeta Yadav, Mr Ankit Fargose and Ms Aditi Pal. Their constant support and careful supervision ensured that the trek was conducted smoothly and safely.
