Embracing Jesuit Spirituality in Education – Staff Orientation with Rev. Fr. John Ravi
On 13th June 2025, Rev. Fr. John Ravi led a staff orientation on Jesuit spirituality in education, offering profound insights into holistic formation through two engaging sessions.
In the first session, he explored the changing identity of today’s learners and stressed the importance of forming students as purposeful change agents. He explained the roles of the left and right brain, advocating a balanced, skill-based, “learning by doing” approach for holistic growth. Citing “Born to be a winner,” he urged teachers to unlock every child’s potential and reflected on the phrase “we bring wellness” to highlight collective responsibility in schools.
The second session centred on the role of parents in Jesuit education. Fr. Ravi emphasized that schools must not only shape students but also support their families, aiming to transform society through compassion. He introduced the “3H” framework—Head, Heart, and Hands—as a model for integrating intellect, empathy, and action. He also addressed students’ psychological challenges, reminding educators to respond with empathy.
Fr. Ravi’s sessions reaffirmed the mission of Jesuit education: forming thoughtful, caring individuals. His insights inspired staff to lead with purpose, humility, and heart.
