On 30th June 2026, our beloved Mathematics and Science teacher, Tr. Jude Pereira, retired after rendering 18 years of dedicated service to the school. To honour his remarkable journey, the school organised a warm and memorable farewell programme conducted in three sessions.
The first session was held for the students of Std. V, VI and VII, followed by a second session for the students of Std. VIII, IX and X. The final session was a special celebration with the staff and Tr. Jude Pereira’s family.
The students’ programme began with a meaningful and heartfelt prayer service. This was followed by a touching video showing memories of Jude Sir’s years in school, along with heartfelt messages from a few of his former students. The School Captain, Master Joseph Prince, shared his experiences and fond memories of Jude Sir. Tr. Fatema then paid a heartfelt tribute sharing her experiences as Jude Sir’s co-worker since the time he joined school.
Our Principal, Rev. Fr. Felix D’Souza, spoke warmly about Jude Sir and remarked that he represented all the values of a teacher of a Jesuit school through his commitment, discipline and sincere concern for his students.
In his farewell address to the students, Jude Sir emphasised the importance of discipline, punctuality and hard work. Students expressed their love and appreciation by presenting him with handmade cards, while one student gifted him a beautiful pencil sketch. It was an emotional and unforgettable moment for everyone present.
The afternoon celebrations were made even more special with the presence of Jude Sir’s family. His brother, Mr. Luke Pereira, and his daughter, Janel, shared personal anecdotes that gave everyone a glimpse into his life beyond the classroom. Several teachers also came forward to share their cherished memories and experiences of working with him. The atmosphere was filled with mixed emotions—sadness at bidding farewell to a dear colleague and joy as he stepped into a new phase of life.
Jude Sir was then felicitated with a bouquet, a greeting card, his portrait and gifts from the staff as tokens of love and appreciation. This was followed by the ceremonial cake-cutting.
In his heartfelt farewell speech, Jude Sir expressed his sincere gratitude to the Management, the Principal, his colleagues and the entire school community for making his 18-year journey so memorable. His words reflected humility, gratitude and deep affection for the institution he had proudly served.
The celebrations concluded with a sumptuous meal shared by all.
As Tr. Jude Pereira embarks on a new chapter in life, we thank him for his dedication and invaluable contribution to the school. We wish him good health, happiness and success in all his future endeavours.
