Cleanliness Drive at St Mary’s , SSC
On the 18th of November, 2014 the 9th and 10th standard boys of St Mary’s High School, SSC, Mazagaon went on a cleanliness spree inspired by the Prime Ministers dream of Clean India. They took it up as a part of their Work Education activity. The students along with the teaching staff took up the broom, bent down, reached right up and ensured that their classrooms, library, resource rooms and playground were dusted, swept and swabbed spic and span. On interviewing the captains they said they learnt many values in this activity like team work, dignity of labour, awareness of health and hygiene and also enjoyed cleaning up their school, their second home. They said they would continue in this spirit everywhere- their homes, societies and help in making our country literally CLEAN. The Supervisor Mrs. Emmy Fernandes said, “This is an excellent learning experience for all, very wholesome to live in a clean and healthy environment. We shall have a good quality of life in such an environment.” A big thank you to our Prime Minister for initiating this drive. We are hopeful for a Clean India soon.
